Randy Hansen (USA)

Line Up:

         Randy Hansen: guitar & vocals
UFO Walter: bass & backing vocals
Manni von Bohr: drums

Surprisingly there is someone who is able to impersonate amazingly exactly the original guitarsounds of Jimi Hendrix: Randy Hansen. But that´s not enough: When Randy is singing you get the feeling that Jimi is alive. The combination of the nearly perfectly imitated voice and style of singing and the way he uses to play the guitar let Randy become the reincarnation of Hendrix. It´s unbelievable! By the way Randy Hansen is born in Seattle/Washington/USA, like Jimi Hendrix.

Randy lives Hendrix – you can´t call him a coverartist. Playing together with the member´s of Jimi´s original Experience – band for a several times, he became an important part of the Hendrixfamily.

Randy Hansen is quite a whirlwind on stage and casts his spell on his audience. At the age of twelve Randy listened to the album of Jimi „Are you experienced“ for the first time. Being popular in USA in the meantime, he already was on tour with some famous musicians and bands. Francis Ford Copolla was so enthusiastic about Randy that he fits in his sounds in the film „Apocalypse Now“.

Together with Jon Uli Roth and other well-known musicians Randy celebrated his overwhelming debut at the Live-music-hall Cologne/Germany where „A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix“ took place, which was recorded for the German TV-station WDR.

In the meantime Randy is successfull in lots of European Countries and especially in „good old Germany“ - with many live-gigs and with his bandmembers Manni von Bohr/ drums (a former Birth Control-member) UFO Walter (a former Marla Glenn member) - he becomes more and more well-known. Both in USA and in Europe Randy Hansen became a cult figure and not only fans of Hendrix are celebrating his gigs.

In his long career Randy Hansen has been played with a lot of different musicians like Ritchie Blackmore, Sam Kinison, John Melencamp, Beach Boys, Bob Seger, Sammy Hagar, Blue Oyster Cult, Triumph, Ronnie Montrose, Pat Travers, Mitch Mitchell, Jack Bruce, Paul Rogers, Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull and many more.

Pressquotes.

„Auf dem Rücken liegend spielte er weiter seine Gitarre, lässt sie singen, weinen, erzählen. Einfach der nackte Wahnsinn - diese Spielfreude.
Die Stratocaster wurde gequält und gestreichelt, gemartert und liebkost, mit den Zähnen bearbeitet und hinter dem Rücken gespielt. Es war immer wieder eine Freude, seinem Spiel zuzusehen“; Ilka Czernohorsky (Home of Rock).
